A while ago, we saw a beautiful video from a cosmetics brand. The lighting was perfect, the sound immersive, the editing fluid. A technically flawless piece of work. But when it was over, someone said, “I didn't understand anything the brand was trying to say.” It lacked what we call a backbone.
